Demo: How to glue things down. Come prepared to work on your project.
- Today I demonstrated how to glue down collage elements without getting buckling. The most important thing to remember is that you need to put glue on both sides of your collage element and the surface you are glueing to before you put the collage element down.
- Remember to go see Les's exhibit at the municiple gallery on Santa Monica Blvd. and Colby before this Friday.
- See links below for more information about the products I mentioned in my demonstration.
There are many products you can use to glue stuff down. For simply gluing paper to a surface I think they all do just about the same thing. Try a couple of them to see if you like one more than another but in the end I think they are all going to get you a similar result - a piece of paper glued to a surface for a very long time if you leave it alone.
One thing I would mention is that "Gel" mediums are thicker as is "Yes" and I am not sure about Mod Podge. Thicker is better if you want more texture but does not mean it is a stronger adhesive. I prefer using the more liquid acrylic matte medium. It is easier to spread and dries a bit faster in my experience.
