Last week we talked about frotage which essentially means putting a piece of paper on a textured surface and rubbing charcoal, graphite or something else on it to capture the texture. You can find textures or as I demonstrated you can make your own textures.
Today I took several of the textures I rubbed last week and made a collage with them. I purposefully used tracing paper last week so I could layer them on top of one another to combine the textures and overlap them.
Next week I will continue developing this image with photo-transfer. See the video below if you want to get a head start. For next week you will need to bring acrylic matte medium and the collages we did today using the pieces of frotage.
